Program Description

Cedarville’s School of Pharmacy provides aspiring pharmacists with the unique opportunity to study in a Christ-centered program focused upon innovation, ethical practice, and collaboration. Cedarville is a Christ-centered learning community equipping students for lifelong leadership and service through an education marked by excellence and grounded in biblical truth that attracts more than 4000 students from around the world to study in our 100 academic programs on a beautiful, 400-acre campus in southwestern Ohio.

You will gain encouragement from committed Christian faculty members and from your fellow Christian classmates, graduating with a clear understanding of Christ-like service as well as a deeper relationship with God.  Since our goal is to produce innovative, compassionate health care professionals, you will be regualrly challenged by your professors to integrate contemporary practices and pursue innovative solutions in an effort to improve patient care.

Online coursework: Accepted for all prerequisite courses.

Pass/fail grades: science courses with labs: Yes, but only if no letter grade option available; science courses without labs: Yes, but only if no letter grade option available; non-science courses: Yes, but only if no letter grade option available.

Completion timing: Applicants must complete all science and mathematics prerequisites by August 15 prior to starting PharmD classes in August.

Letter of Recommendation Requirements

Two (2) evaluations (letters of reference) are required.

Accepted: Employer, Faculty Advisor, Health Care Professional, Pharmacist, Politician, Pre-Health Advisor, Professor (Any Subject Area), Professor (Liberal Arts), Professor (Math), Professor (Science), Supervisor, Teaching Assistant

Committee letters: Accepted (counts as more than one: No)

Cedarville University requires a minimum of two recommendations from a professional relationship, i.e. employer, pharmacist, healthcare professional, professor, etc. You must submit the recommendations through PharmCAS.

Interview Information

Interview Format: Individual applicants with two or more interviewers

Online interview option: Yes, but only on a case-by-case basis

The interview is the final step in the admission process. Invitations to interview are contingent upon a verified PharmCAS application, acceptable academic credentials, and a completed supplemental application. Interviews typically occur on campus so that applicants can learn about the School of Pharmacy and meet faculty, staff, and students through the experience. However, online interviews are also available when traveling to campus is not possible. The admission interview includes two components, a meeting with two pharmacy faculty members and then a meeting with our dean or one of the administrative team members.
