Program Description

Wingate University School of Pharmacy is known for its graduates. They are the most practice-ready pharmacists anywhere. With over 2100 hours of practice experience, our program exceeds the requirement by 360 hours. Our practice experiences are in hospital, community, and clinic-based settings. Here, the real learning takes place. The experiences are placed throughout the curriculum to allow students to apply what they have learned in classes immediately, beginning in their very first year of the program. Over the past decade, Wingate pharmacy graduates have exceeded the national pass rate in 10 of the last 11 years. All pharmacy classes and labs are taught by faculty possessing terminal doctoral degrees. No courses, discussions, case studies, or laboratories are taught by graduate students or teaching assistants. One program –two campuses. One in Wingate NC, and one in Hendersonville NC. The program is capped at 90 students – 70 on the Wingate Campus and 20 on the Hendersonville Campus. Scholarships are available to the most competitive candidates for admission.

Wingate University School of Pharmacy is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).

Academically qualified applicants are invited to an on-site interview. The visit lasts about four hours, during which applicants may meet individually with current students, faculty members, and staff. Applicants are usually notified within one week after interviewing whether or not they have been selected for admission.
