Program Description

The mission of the UTHSC College of Pharmacy is to prepare tomorrow’s pharmacy leaders and advocates for the profession.  Our graduates enter contemporary practice settings with confidence and a diverse skillset.  The curriculum strongly supports graduates who desire to continue their education through residencies or other postgraduate training, as well as those who plan to enter practice directly after graduation.

Our main campus resides in Memphis on the University of Tennessee’s Health Science Center campus, with additional campuses located in Nashville and Knoxville.  The college continues to be ranked in the top 20 of all colleges of pharmacy nationwide, and graduates consistently score greater than the national and state averages on board exam pass rates.

The UTHSC student pharmacist acquires clinical knowledge and finesse through a varied curricula consisting of:

  • An integrated curriculum introducing therapeutics-based courses in the P1 year
  • APPEs beginning in the P3 year, providing students earlier exposure to clinical rotations across the state and beyond
