Program Description

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) School of Pharmacy has the only three year concentrated Doctor of Pharmacy program in the state of Maryland.

Our curriculum provides students with a strong foundation in the pharmaceutical, social/administrative and clinical sciences. With a major emphasis on high quality patient-centered care, innovation, and lifelong learning skills, our graduates are able to excel in any professional arena.

Students are mentored by nationally renowned faculty with a student-faculty ratio of approximately 6:1. With a diverse student population, we utilize best teaching practices to ensure that every student achieves their full potential through an intellectually challenging and enriching educational experience.

Our 2018 graduates had the highest NAPLEX pass rate in Maryland, and exceeded the national average. Our alumni are leaders in the profession, advancing the field of pharmacy and making a difference in the lives of the patients they serve.

LOR types that are CONDITIONALLY ACCEPTED: Health Care Professional, Pharmacist, Politician
Note: please verify the institution specific details regarding CONDITIONALLY ACCEPTED LOR types.

Pre-Health Adviser
Advisor must have 2+ years of familiarity with the applicant and have 10 plus years advising experience and limit the number of such LOR’s they deliver to a top specified percent of advisees.
