Program Description

Our Albany, NY campus is in the capital city of New York, within 2.5 hours of Boston and New York City and within close proximity to major medical centers, laboratories, and government agencies.

As the role of pharmacists evolves to a more patient-focused landscape, we are committed to providing an education for students that will prepare them to be beyond practice ready upon entering their careers. We recently opened two student-operated pharmacies near campus, providing students an entrepreneurial experience to strengthen skills in communication, leadership, and service to a diverse population.

Outside of the classroom, students enjoy an array of extracurriculars, such as athletics, performing arts, clubs, and professional organizations. In addition, the city of Albany offers political, cultural, and social opportunities. The region’s population of over a million people includes 60,000 college students, providing students access a major metropolitan area with the feel a tight-knit college town.

ACPHS was recently ranked the #1 value added college nationally by a report from the Brookings Institution of 3,173 colleges and #2 for average salaries 10 years after enrollment by the College Scorecard.

Completion timing: Prerequisites can be outstanding during the application process. If all else is satisfactory, a conditional acceptance will be awarded. All prerequisites must be complete by the start of orientation at the middle of August.

Interview Information

Interview Format: Individual applicants with two or more interviewers

Online interview option: Yes

Qualified applicants will be invited for virtual or in person interviews throughout the year. Interviewees meet with ACPHS faculty, to discuss their motivation for a pharmacy career, their experience in healthcare, and leadership roles. Interviewees’ communication skills, professionalism, and maturity are assessed. There are other sessions included in the interview event as well.
