Program Description

CUW’s School of Pharmacy educates pharmacists to be servant leaders, dedicated to improving the health of our communities through excellence in teaching, research, service, and practice.

Experiential Education

• IPPEs: 2-week rotations during the middle of the four P1/P2 semesters
• Elective IPPEs: available to P3 students to explore specialized pharmacy settings
• APPEs: Eight P4 rotations to develop advanced pharmacy practice skills in diverse settings
• PGY1 residencies: four 12-month (clinical underserved/community) and one 24-month (academic emphasis)

Interprofessional Practice & Education

• Gain essential healthcare team experience with peers who are also pursuing advanced healthcare-related professional degrees in Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Medicine

Student-Centered

• Commuter and family-friendly schedule with the majority of required coursework between 10am-3pm
• Focus on applied learning through skill-development labs and practice-based experiences
• Curriculum designed for students active involvement in professional organizations

Completion timing: Applicants need to complete all required prerequisites prior to the August start date of the PharmD coursework.

Letter of Recommendation Requirements

Two (2) evaluations (letters of reference) are required.

Concordia University Wisconsin School of Pharmacy requires two letters of reference to be submitted directly to PharmCAS. References should address your academic performance, understanding of the pharmacy profession, service and leadership opportunities, and character. Choose references who know you well in professional or educational settings, such as professors, supervisors, advisors, or pharmacists. Reference letters are reviewed to assess your character, communication skills, academic ability, motivation, understanding of the pharmacy profession, and commitment to community service.

At Concordia University Wisconsin School of Pharmacy, our Interview Day is a half-day program where you will meet faculty, staff, and current students to learn more about what makes the School of Pharmacy unique. You’ll complete a writing sample and an interview with one or two faculty members and/or Alumni pharmacists.
