Program Description
University of Houston College of Pharmacy (UHCOP) combines the opportunities & experiences of the Texas Medical Center’s world-class healthcare community with resources of the University of Houston, Texas’ premier urban teaching and research university, to offer the best possible education. We have 2 locations, UH main campus, in Houston,TX, and Doctor’s Hospital Renaissance (DHR) in Edinburg,TX.
UH main campus has 2 large stadium-style classrooms, active learning classrooms, compounding and sterile products lab, OSCE suites, and state-of-the-art pharmacology, pharmaceutical and medicinal chemistry core labs. We feature active-learning technologies, including patient simulation, patient-care & research labs.

Prerequisite Coursework Policies
Online coursework: Accepted for all prerequisite courses.
Pass/fail grades: Not accepted.
Completion timing: All Science and Math prerequisites must be completed by end of Spring 2027 semester. Applicants must complete all required prerequisites by 8/15/2027, which is prior to beginning the Pharm.D. program in the fall. An applicant may petition to complete math or science prerequisites in the summer prior to beginning the Pharm.D. program, final course must end by 8/15/2027. Petitions will be reviewed by the admission committee on a case-by-case basis.
Letter of Recommendation Requirements
Three (3) evaluations (letters of reference) are required.

Letters of Reference from family members and close friends are NOT accepted. All Letters of Reference must be from individuals residing in the U.S.
