Prerequisite Coursework Policies

Online coursework: Accepted for all prerequisite courses. Applicants may complete their prerequisites at any accredited institution – even online (SUNY Online, for example).

Pass/fail grades: science courses with labs: Yes, but only if no letter grade option available; science courses without labs: Yes, but only if no letter grade option available; non-science courses: Yes, but only if no letter grade option available.

Completion timing: All undergraduate prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade of C- or better by the end of the summer semester prior to fall matriculation. Prerequisite courses do not have to be completed prior to application.

Letter of Recommendation Requirements

Two (2) evaluations (letters of reference) are required.

Committee letters: Accepted (counts as more than one: No)

It is important to develop relationships to obtain academic and professional references by visiting your professors during office hours, impressing your supervisors, meeting with your advisor regularly, and shadowing or volunteering in a health-care setting. Share your personal essay with your evaluator so they understand your motivation towards pharmacy. You may ask your evaluator(s) to write a letter of recommendation, save it electronically, and later submit it during the application cycle in which you are applying.

Applicants will be notified via email anytime throughout the admissions cycle if selected for an interview. All interviews are conducted via zoom. Students who have an immediate family member (parents, spouses, siblings, children) who is an alumnus of our school (PharmD or Pharmaceutical Sciences) are guaranteed an interview. Applicants supply this information on their PharmCAS application and may alert us by emailing [email protected].
