One of the largest and most comprehensive private nonsectarian universities in the country, it offers more than 600 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degree programs and certificates and educates more than 18,000 students.
The Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences was founded in 1886 and is the oldest unit of LIU. Located on the Brooklyn Campus, the College of Pharmacy educates students in the heart of the largest metropolitan area in the country. There are nearly 800 full-time professional students and approximately 250 graduate students enrolled each year.
The professional segment of the Doctor of Pharmacy program consists of six semesters of didactic and early experiential coursework and an extramural year of advanced practice experiences, which students complete in hospital, community, and other pharmacy practice settings. Program Description
Our Colchester, VT campus is located just outside of Burlington, within 1.5 hours of Montreal. It is the only school of pharmacy in the state. Nestled in a valley along the banks of Lake Champlain between the Green Mountain and the Adirondack Mountain ranges, the setting provides an enriching complement of natural beauty and cutting-edge innovation. Nearby is the city of Burlington, a bustling community known for numerous quality of life awards, health care breakthroughs at the University of Vermont Medical Center, biomedical startups, farm-to-table restaurants, and some of the best craft breweries in the country.
The students at our Vermont campus, where each entering class is typically less than 40 students, share a close relationship with the surrounding community. For example, in the spring of 2016, ACPHS students teamed with the Vermont Pharmacists Association to influence legislation of S.243, which has since been signed into law. This expands the role of Vermont pharmacists as healthcare providers and in the prevention of opioid abuse.
ACPHS was recently ranked the #1 value added college nationally by a report from the Brookings Institution of 3,173 colleges and #2 for average salaries 10 years after enrollment by the College Scorecard.
Visit our website to learn more about the 3-year accelerated program offered on our Vermont campus or the 4-year pharmacy program offered on our New York campus.

The University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy, founded in 1908, has consistently ranked in the top 20 of all pharmacy schools in the nation, and this year is ranked 6th among all pharmacy schools for research funding. Students spend the first two years of the professional degree program in Oxford, the third year at the University of Mississippi Medical Center campus in Jackson, and the final year in practice experiences in multiple states and international sites. The 2018 graduate pass rate on the NAPLEX was >95%, and tuition remains among the lowest of public schools and colleges of pharmacy. Each entering professional class consists of approximately 115 Regular Entry and Early Entry students. One of the distinctive benefits is that upon completion of the first year students receive the Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Completion of this degree with at least a 2.0 GPA is required for admission into the Doctor of Pharmacy degree program, which consists of an additional three years of study/practice experiences.
