Program Description
USciences has prepared leaders and practitioners in the healthcare and science fields since its founding in 1821 as Philadelphia College of Pharmacy (https://www.usciences.edu/philadelphia-college-of-pharmacy/index.html), the first college of pharmacy in North America. In that time, USciences has grown to over 30 degree-granting programs-from bachelor’s through doctoral degrees-in the health and bench sciences, as well as healthcare business and policy. Our tradition of hands-on research and experiential learning is evident in every graduate. The results are rewarding, well-paying careers showing why USciences graduates are proven everywhere they go (https://www.usciences.edu/proven-everywhere/index.html).
The comprehensive curriculum combines courses in biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, social sciences and the liberal arts with professional courses and pharmacy practice experiences. Our curriculum is designed for you to gain hands-on pharmacy experience early in your professional program and build upon it through graduation. You will have other options to enhance your education, including residencies and fellowships in pharmacy as well as opportunities to earn a minor or additional degree. Capstone courses allow you to explore drug therapy in the management and prevention of many disease states, work directly with data systems records that simulate those used in pharmacy practice, and develop drug therapy regimens using data from actual patients.
