At the Marshall University School of Pharmacy, we do things a bit differently.
Active Learning/Flipped Classroom: We chose to design our innovative spaces to best suit your unique learning style: small, intimate spaces with less than 80 students per class. As part of active learning, Marshall has instituted the flipped classroom. The flipped classroom places special emphasis on the social, hands-on aspect of learning, and our faculty encourage interactive teaching in these classrooms. Lectures are provided in advance to make the classroom a place for interactivity, knowledge development and concept emphasis.
Simulation before practice: State-of-the-art simulation areas allow you to practice skills and daily pharmacy activities before jumping into real-world situations.
Early practice experiences: There’s no waiting until your third year for practice experience. Huntington’s location gives Marshall students the opportunity to be certified and giving immunizations within the first year and have a student license in three states (West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio).

Larkin University College of Pharmacy is the first year-round, three-year, block-program in the State of Florida!
Founded in 2013, Larkin University is a private, not-for-profit university. LU is affiliated with Larkin Health Systems but is a separate Educational Institution. The primary goal of the College is to promote and foster pharmacy education to create compassionate and knowledgeable pharmacists who will be prepared to pursue a multitude of career options including post-graduate education. Although students complete their Doctor of Pharmacy in three years, as opposed to the more traditional four years, due to the design of the curriculum, students have approximately 25% more contact time than traditional programs!
The block curriculum allows students to:
Learn in a focused format so students can concentrate on one major topic at a time.
Several courses are taught longitudinally over the year in order to apply the knowledge that has been learned within each block.
In a typical day, the class meets with their faculty, engages in didactic teaching, and participates in active learning activities to allow the substantial amount of information learned in pharmacy school to be applied regularly, limiting the need for excessive memorization.
LU College of Pharmacy is affiliated with many teaching hospitals and clinics for pharmacy students throughout Miami-Dade and Broward Counties so students will not have to travel for third-year rotations unless they wish to do so.

Loma Linda University School of Pharmacy (LLUSP) offers an academically rigorous four-year program leading to a PharmD degree. Our student body as well as faculty and staff are diverse both in ethnicity and religious background.
LLUSP is one of eight schools that comprise Loma Linda University, and is owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. It is LLUSP policy to admit individuals who desire a faith-based education and demonstrate a commitment to Christian principles.
The Admissions Committee evaluates applicants based on a variety of criteria such as academic achievement, communication skills, pharmacy experience, involvement in extracurricular activities and a faith affiliation. We value experiences that demonstrate leadership and community service. While a strong aptitude in the biological and physical sciences is important; we also encourage a well-balanced academic background in humanities and social sciences.
The mission of the School of Pharmacy is to educate pharmacists within a Christian environment to become caring and competent health care professionals. A Loma Linda University pharmacist is someone for whom the pursuit of excellence is a way of life.
